Long awaited gift

Last night you creeped through my door, I almost forgot what you felt like.

I needed to see you again, hear your voice and be reminded that I am still human.

Last night you almost broke me, the strength building up within me to keep running this race.

I can’t say I don’t miss you, the reassurance that everything will be ok.

I can’t say I wish you could never leave again, even though our timing always seemed wrong.

I rest assured knowing that pretty soon you will dwell in my home, be the very pillar I long for all my days.

As I build the courage to look right pass you, I pray that you will return to be at the right time and in the right form.

No longer creeping in, owning the key to my life…
