Life journey, lessons learned- part 1

Life can have its up and downs, this year has been a challenging year for me, but I have learned a lot, from learning how to be comfortable in my skin and love my flaws to learning how to be a great leader.

As a leader at my residence, I have learned that people will not always like you no matter how much you try to please them but that should not stop you from doing good and doing your job. As a senior resident and house committee member I realised that I will not always get recognition for my actions, so I shouldn’t look for it. There were moments where I wanted to throw in the towel, but for the sake of the people I lead, I choose to stand firm until my term is over.

For those who don’t know, I am a people’s pleaser. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being able to put a smile on someone’s face.
I often struggle to stay humble especially when people push me to my breaking point…

I must say my family especially my immediate older sister and my mom have helped me a lot this year; my sister always makes me think rationally and does not let my thoughts get clouded by my emotions, my mom on the other hand, reminds me to be the better person and to treat others right not letting them use me at the same time…

So much has happened this year, I can feel that the caterpillar that I was a few months ago will soon be ready to fly…
